Copies of Death Certificates are available through the Amherst Town Clerk's Office if the death occurred in the Town of Amherst and the request must be made by the surviving spouse, informant on the death certificate, funeral home, executor or others legally allowed to receive copies. Proof of identification is required. A valid drivers license is acceptable. The cost for a certified death certificate is $10.00.
