| Solicitor's, Vendor's, Peddler's Permits |
Anyone wishing to sell a product via door-to-door sales, from a vehicle, or from someone else's property must have a permit. The fee is $25.00 per person. If soliciting from a vehicle fees are $100 for each vehicle and a transient license fee of $25.00. All fees are payable at the time of application at the Amherst Town Clerk's Office. The permit is valid for 90 days from the date of approval. An application must be completed and accompanied by a copy of a current driver's license. There is a five (5) day waiting period while a background search is done by Amherst Police.
If conducting business on someone else's property the following must be provided:
- a letter of permission from the property owner
- the address of the property
- a map of the location of the property (please attach a copy of the survey, if possible) showing displays and off-street parking
- name, address and phone number of record owner.
