Swine Flu Information provided by the Erie County Department of Health.

“The concept of this homepage came to me as a result of many phone calls, conversations and inquiries regarding different concerns that residents of our community brought forward. In this day of having so much information at our fingertips it can be very helpful but also overwhelming. What we wanted to do was take some of the frequently asked about topics and put them together with both simple answers and the ability to search more in depth in one location. These topics are nestled in with Town related business items all located on one easy to search site. We are not reinventing anything but providing a more direct conduit to the information.  We hope this site helps provide answers to your concerns."

“In my capacity as a registered nurse and medical sociologist, many Amherst residents have asked me for easily accessible information concerning public health issues.  In response, I have worked closely with the Town’s Information Technology Department and the Emergency Services and Safety Office to create a single, easy-to-use, online compilation of information concerning avian influenza, West Nile virus, rodent control, and other issues that impact the health and safety of our residents.”

Deborah Bruch Bucki, R.N., Ph.D.
Amherst Town Clerk
