The primary purpose of the Building Maintenance Division of the Building Department is to:
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance of the Harlem Road Community Center, including parking lot, landscaping, snow removal and cleaning of sidewalks.
- Provide security on weekends and Monday through Friday evenings in the Harlem Road Community Center for all functions conducted during those times.
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance functions in the Amherst Town Hall, exterior lawn and landscape, sidewalk cleaning and assisting the Highway Department with parking lot snow removal.
- Provide all cleaning functions in the Youth and Recreation Department offices at the Amherst Pepsi Center.
- Provides cleaning and maintenance at all Youth centers.
- Provide all cleaning functions at the Amherst Museum.
- Provide all cleaning functions in the Engineering, Plant 16, Compost offices.
- Provide all cleaning functions and assists with maintenance of the Amherst Senior Center.
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance functions, including plowing of parking lot, sidewalk snow removal at the Amherst Archives Center on North Forest Rd.
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance functions, including plowing of parking lot, sidewalk snow removal at Building “C” in the Amherst complex on Smith Rd.
- Provide transferring of all records for all Departments.
- Work with the Amherst Engineering department on all projects involving new buildings, building additions, renovations, equipment, etc. in applicable Town buildings.
