The Town of Amherst Office of Information Technology (IT) manages both local area networks (LAN) and a wide area network (WAN) in most municipal buildings. The town is currently investigating the feasibility of a network-wide fiber optic upgrade. This technology could serve the town's communication needs (computer, telephony, video, etc.) for the next several decades. |
