The Amherst Police Department plans to spend the $66,756 allotment in U.S Department of Justice 2009 JAG Stimulus funds to:
- Improve Police Radio communications with a microwave relay to UB Main St campus repeater site, as part of our P25 complaint radio upgrade.

- Update Patrol in-car camera systems to digital format.
$30,000
- Fund Community Policing initiatives and equipment including Cops and Kids Field Days, Community Policing Unit, and Tactical Bicycle Patrol.
$20,000
- Purchase additional needed equipment for Patrol and Traffic Divisions.
