Youth and Recreation

Thanks for visiting and be sure to come back often, as our program offerings change. Please check the Track Us announcements above for more information about current or upcoming Programming and Brochures.

The Amherst Youth & Recreation Department offers programs for residents of all ages. Program registration requires a resident ID card which is good from January 1 through December 31. Program activities are held at various Recreation and Community Center locations throughout the town. Amherst is home to over 20 outdoor park/playground locations which encompass both active and passive recreation. Park amenities include playgrounds, shelters, bike paths, tennis courts, sports fields and picnic areas. Picnic shelters and select facilities are available for rental by large groups. Two beautiful pools along with a splash park are available for resident use during the summer months.

From spring through late fall, area residents and non-residents alike can enjoy golfing at three (3) public golf courses. Each course offers its own unique challenge. A driving range is also available for those who want to brush up on their game or take a few swings.

For information on how to register for Youth and Recreation programs visit amherstyouthandrec.org.
