Fall Classes Begin September 2nd
All Amherst Residents, as well as Non-residents, 55 years of age or older are welcomed to register for Fall classes that are set to begin September 2, 2014. Many openings in a variety of classes still available including: Calligraphy, Digital Photography, Photoshop Elements, Processing Digital Images, Country Western Line Dancing, Tap Dance, Ballroom Dance, Discussion Groups, Upholstery, Art History & many more.
The Fall 2014 courses run from September 2 – December 19, 2014. The Fall 2014 Course Catalog is available online at the Town of Amherst website: www.amherst.ny.us, by clicking on the Senior Services Department and then selecting the Fall 2014 Course Cataloglink in the center column.
Enjoy Musicalfare Performance: The Drowsy Chaperone
Help Amherst Meals on Wheels (AMOW) by enjoying Daemon College next Musicalfare fundraiser “The Drowsy Chaperone” which takes place on Tuesday, September 23, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased through AMOW by calling 636-3055 ext. 3170.
Donation Items for Basket Auction Needed
The Amherst Senior Center is one six sites that houses UNIVERSITY EXPRESS, which offers stimulating academic classes, free of charge, to Erie County residents over the age of 55. All classes and lectures this semester are at 12:45 pm unless noted. University Express instructors are volunteers sharing their experience. You must register directly at the Amherst Center for Senior Services for the above classes by calling 636-3059.
We are in need of items for our Volunteer Fair & Basket Auction in October. Examples such as baskets, containers, gift certificates, small houseware items, candles, lotions, fragrances, holiday items, etc. would be a big help. Please contact Joanne Cole-Marshall at 636-3055 ext. 3107.
