Eggertsville Task Force
On March 15, 2010 the Amherst Town Board voted to create an Eggertsville Task Force to direct more attention to Eggertsville. Eggertsville is defined as the area bounded by Sheridan to the Cheektowaga Border and Niagara Falls Boulevard to Getzville Road. The Eggertsville Task Force mission is a collaborative effort of interested parties to prioritize quality of life issues affecting Eggertsville and recommend practical solutions to the issues.
In addition to Councilmember Steven D. Sanders, Chairman, and Councilmember Richard “Jay” Anderson, Vice-Chairman, the Eggertsville Task Force includes the department head or a designee from the Attorney’s office, Building Department, Grants, Planning Department, Police Department, Recreation, and Youth. Additional representatives of the Amherst Central School District, Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, Cantalician Center for Learning, St. Benedict Elementary School, University of Buffalo, Amherst Chamber of Commerce, Amherst Industrial Development Agency, members of the Eggertsville Community Organization, and the Fire Service. Additional representation from the Eggertsville area includes residents, apartments, stores, businesses, plazas, and religious institutions.
