Eggertsville Action Plan
In 1999 the Amherst Town Board directed the Planning Department to initiate a planning process that focuses on short-term strategies intended to promote the renewal and revitalization of the commercial areas of the Eggertsville community. The Town retained the services of the consulting firms of Parsons/DeLeuw, Cather and Economic Research Associates (ERA) to prepare the plan. This Report represents the efforts of the Consultants, Town of Amherst Staff, and most importantly the residents of the Eggertsville area to form an action plan.
The implementation of a plan that focuses on redevelopment requires the participation of residents, businessman, and community leaders who are familiar with the problems and opportunities facing businesses in Eggertsville. With completion of the Action Plan the Town is initiating efforts to begin to implement its recommendations. By reviewing the documents below, we hope that you will become a participant in the implementation of the Plan and help us to revitalize this critical area of our community. This Plan represents the first step in revitalizing Eggertsville, however, planning is a continuous process and we will provide periodic updates on our efforts. In the near future this Web Site will contain information about programs and other initiatives the Town will employ to implement the Action Plan.
