2024 Assessment Equity Project
Disclosure notices for the 2024 Assessment Equity Project were mailed out March 1st. This project will insure everyone is paying their fair share of the tax levy. It’s important to remember a project does not raise tax dollars and the Assessor’s Office does not set the budget. We simply make sure the tax burden is divided fairly among the tax payers. Doing a project will bring everyone to 100% of their market value, which creates equity. A raise in assessment does not automatically mean a raise in your taxes, in fact some may see a decrease in their total taxes.
The Town of Amherst Property Record Online System (“PROS”) is an interactive assessment website that allows property owners to search property information for any property in the Town of Amherst. The Town of Amherst PROS website allows property owners to review property assessment information, property inventory and search for comparable sales.
