Amherst Remembers May 14, 2022 - Extends Condolences to All Impacted
Today marks the anniversary of the May 14, 2022 Tops Tragedy. In honoring and remembering the victims of this senseless violence, the Town of Amherst Community Diversity Commission shares a video tribute. Another year has passed and the Town of Amherst continues to extend its deepest condolences to all family, friends, and community members affected by this tragedy. We will never forget the lives lost on that day and we will continue to fight against hate.

Mission Statement
The purpose of this Commission is to enhance and increase cooperation, understanding, and dialogue among residents of diverse cultural, religious, socio-economic and racial backgrounds, and to promote inclusion throughout the town. Some of the responsibilities of the coalition will be to study the demographics of Amherst; promote town-wide events that foster cultural awareness; increase minority participation on governmental boards and committees and in the Town's workplace; and to facilitate meetings designed to promote a better understanding of who Amherst is as a community.
