The primary purpose of the Building Maintenance Division of the Building Department is to:
- Provide all cleaning and Maintenance of the Harlem Road Community Center, landscaping, plowing and snow removal.
- Provide security on weekends and Monday through Friday evenings in the Harlem Road Community Center for all functions conducted during those times.
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance functions in the Amherst Town Hall and snow removal.
- Provide all cleaning functions in the Youth and Recreation Department offices at the Northtown Center.
- Provides cleaning and maintenance at all Youth centers.
- Provide all cleaning functions in the Engineering and Plant 16.
- Provide all cleaning and maintenance functions, including plowing of parking lot, sidewalk snow removal at Building “C” and Paw Park in the Amherst complex on Smith Rd
- Provide transferring of all records for all Departments.
- Mow Amherst Library lawns
- Parking lot maintenance for all town owned facilities.
- Provide maintenance for EYCC.
- Provide inspections and maintenance for all fire extinguishers at all town facilities.
- Maintenance at refuse Garage A/Building Dept storage
