The Office of the Town Clerk is responsible for recording activities of the town government and is the repository of the vital documents of town residents.


School Tax Reminder:

The 2019 School Tax payments are due Tuesday, October 15th. The Town Clerk's office is open Mon - Fri, 8:00 AM through 4:30 PM with special extended hours of tax collection on Monday, October 14 and Tuesday, October 15, 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM

The school tax bill may be paid at the Amherst Town Clerk's office, located in the Amherst Municipal Building at 5583 Main Street, Williamsville, New York during the following times: Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 4:30pm with special extended hours of tax collection on October 14 and October 15, 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM.

To pay your school tax bill online, please visit our Online Tax Bill Portal. You may pay your taxes online by using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card (2.45% service fee), by Visa debit card ($3.95 flat fee) or by electronic check ($1.75 flat fee). Service fees are collected by the web service provider, not the Town of Amherst. Only full payments may be made online.

Online Dog Renewals

New! Online Dog Renewal System.

The Online Dog Renewal System will allow you to license your dog from any computer with access to the Internet. Please be assured that every precaution has been taken to ensure that your online transactions are safe and secure.

You may renew & pay for your dog license(s) online by using your MasterCard, Visa or Discover Credit Cards. You may also pay via Debit Card or Electronic Check. There is a $1.75 convenience fee added to allow for this online service.

Please keep in mind that this is a renewal system. If you are licensing your dog for the first time, you will need to come to the Town Clerk's office and present a valid rabies certificate as well as a spay or neuter certificate, if applicable.
