Description of Duties
- Receives, sorts, indexes and files a wide variety of materials such as correspondence, forms, permits, registrations, payrolls, warrants, medical reports, arraignments, index cards and case histories
- Keeps records of material and prepares it for filing by coding, indexing and cross-indexing as necessary
- Prepares file folders, guides, and labels
- Obtains requested material and charges it to the borrower
- Makes necessary searches to insure completeness
- Files returned material and cancels charge-outs
- Assembles material from files on specific subjects or cases
- Picks up incoming mail at Post Office or other locations
- Types tabulations and lists from work sheets and written reports
- Marks outgoing and incoming mail for routing to interested employees
- Assists in logging incoming mail as to source, address and general subject
- Operates photo copy machines
Qualifications
A) Graduation from a standard high school course and one year of clerical experience, six months of which must have been in the operation or assisting with the operation of a comprehensive filing system; OR
B) A satisfactory equivalent combination of training and experience
Rate of Pay
$31,052 to $44,660, Grade 1.
