Blue Rated Properties – Local Designation Eligible
What is a "Blue Rated" property?
This is a property identified as having extremely high architectural and/or historic significance in the Town of Amherst.
Why is this significant?
Your property may be eligible to become a local landmark or listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Are there any restrictions?
Because your property has historic value, any demolition requests must be reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission.
Reasons to consider landmarking?
The historic value of your property will be preserved if it is a local landmark. If you choose the honor of listing on the National Registry of Historic Places, tax credits may also be available
We are here to help!
Please contact the Town of Amherst Historic Preservation Commission via the Planning Department for more info and assistance.
