Highway Department /  Bubbler Concerns

Bubbler Concerns

  • The private drainage system is a homeowner’s responsibility from the house to the storm line connection.
  • The Highway will not flush the bubbler lines on private property.
  • A bubbler near the street acts as a safety valve in the event of a curb tile being full or plugged.
  • If no water is coming out at the bubbler, a resident should contact a plumber before the highway department
  • Water flowing out of a bubbler vent during a heavy rainfall does not in itself mean that there is a problem with your drainage system.
  • Common blockages of a bubbler or drainage system include: leaves, dirt/mud and other objects from gutters or sump pumps.
  • The Highway Department will come out and check the main lines and catch basins for any obstructions.
